Biography

The beautiful, expressive voice of singer Andreas Hauff has been known for many years through top-selling records, television appearances, numerous gala performances, and performances at international festivals and his successful career continues today with recordings like "Die Zeit Mit Dir" and the CD single "Wo Ist Der Hit? (Bau Wau Wau)."

"His voice is like a diamond on dark velvet," wrote one enthusiastic journalist when she heard Hauff sing for the first time.

As a singer, entertainer, and songwriter, the Austrian-born Hauff was well-prepared for his musical career, even though his parents would have preferred a more conventional career for their son. He studied at the Bruckner Conservatory in his hometown of Linz, Austria and then founded his own group, with which he traveled all across Europe. After arriving in Munich, Germany during one tour, Hauff decided to stay and make it his home. He said that he had always been attracted to Munich for its music and its certain 'joie de vivre.'

It was in Munich that Hauff was discovered as a soloist and realized his dream of becoming a professional singer. Although his music has taken him all over the world throughout the years, Hauff has always remained loyal to Munich.

He acheived a significant level of stardom with his hit record "Sag Dankeshon mit roten Rosen" ("Say Thank You With Red Roses"), a recording that sold more than 3.5 million copies worldwide and was certified 14 times platinum status. Hauff wrote the lyrics to this hit song and Walter Geiger composed the music. The song became an enduring favorite that he peformed everywhere on his worldwide tours from Australia to Alexandria. "Sag Dankeshon mit roten Rosen" also became a staple in the repertoire of numerous musicians both in Europe and abroad.

The versatile "artist with the diamond voice" is never without ideas and his continues to write songs both for himself and for other singers. One of his most novel creations was his recording "Wo Ist Der Hit? (Bau Wau Wau)," on which he samples American funk singer's popular song "Atomic Dog" and turns it into his own unique tune. It's the hallmark song of "Die Zeit Mit Dir" and is available as a CD single, both of which are available from JPMC Records.
